Long-term Student Visa (Type-D)

VISA SUBMISSION :

The minimum period for submitting a student visa will be two months in advance of the start date of the teaching activity to be carried out. It is strongly recommended to submit the corresponding application as quickly as possible, in order not to miss classes. The visa fees are at your own charge.

DOCUMENTS LANGUAGE :

All required documents that are not in Spanish must be translated to Spanish – only exceptions is for bank statements written in English or French. All foreign documents must be legalized or apostilled, and translated.

COURSE REGISTRATION :

Document reflecting the total amount of the course, including registration and/or enrollment fees, reservation of place and similar, indicating the amounts already paid.

PROOF OF FUNDS :

Documents that prove that the necessary economic means are guaranteed to cover the expenses of stay (minimum 630 EUR per month for all the length of the studies). Amounts used, if any, to cover the cost of studies will not be counted towards the guarantee of living expenses.

ACCOMMODATION :

You must provide official documentation confirming your place of residence in Spain for the duration of your stay. Accepted documents include a rental contract, confirmation of campus housing, or a notarized letter from a host along with a copy of their ID.

RESIDENCE IN COUNTRY OF ORIGIN :

Valid document proving the legal residence and/or stay status with authorization to return to the country (visa, resident alien identity document, etc). Driver's licenses issued by local authorities, registration certificates, and for this purpose, rental agreements, utility bills or telephone bills will not be accepted.

VISA APPROVAL :

If the visa is granted, it will be issued for a long-term stay of up to one year. The authorization will be valid up to one month prior to the start of the teaching activity and will extend for 15 days beyond the end of the activity or studies; therefore, it is not possible to issue a visa outside of these limits.

VISA COLLECTION :

The deadline for collecting the visa is one month from the date of its issuance. If the visa is not collected within this period, the Consular Office will issue a decision to close the application due to renunciation. The visa cannot be collected from any Consular Office other than the one that processed the application.
